Developers Vornado Realty Trust and Stellar Management are planning a 90-story, super-luxury condominium tower between Independence Plaza’s 310 Greenwich and the Harrison Street historic townhouses. They claim the current development plan is as-of-right, not subject to community review, and not required to provide any new affordable housing. This 90-story tower is nearly three times the height of the existing IPN buildings and grossly out of scale with the surrounding neighborhood. We call for community input in the development process and support to keep Tribeca from becoming another ‘Billionaire’s Row,’ like 57th Street.
